DAC Worldwide's Rupture Disk Assembly Cutaway (273-737) allows for effective and convenient classroom training in the design, operating principles, and construction geometry of a process rupture disk. The complete assembly is sectioned exposing all primary features including the placement of the rupture disk within the flange assembly area. The complete geometry of this fundamental piece of equipment is exposed facilitating a better understanding of its operating principle and purpose in industrial applications.
Rupture disk assemblies consist of a thin, circular membrane usually made of metal, plastic, or graphite that is firmly clamped in a disk holder. When a process reaches the bursting pressure of the disk, the disk ruptures and releases the pressure. Rupture disks can be installed alone or in combination with other types of devices. They are commonly used in series (upstream) with a Relief valve to prevent corrosive fluids from contacting the metal parts of the valve.
The cutaway comes mounted on a 13-gauge, formed-steel, power-coated mounting stand with clip-type attachment brackets. It can also be mounted on related DAC Worldwide bench, workstation, storage rack, and display products.
