DAC Worldwide’s Journal and Fluid-Film Bearing Training System Plus (204J-PAC) is a realistic, heavy-duty learning aide that allows for convenient and consistent training in the identification, installation, removal, and maintenance of a variety of babbet-type journal bearings found on high horsepower, high-speed rotating machines that have high loads. When paired with a variety of hands-on exercises, the training system package creates a complete performance-based course in the maintenance of industrial bearings. The package includes a Journal and Fluid-Film Bearing Trainer (204J-000), a Tool Kit (204-J01), and an IPT Industrial Trades Training Manual (510-000).

The Extended Bearing Maintenance Trainer contains two student workstations, as a split journal bearing is provided on each end of the device. The bearing allows for common maintenance practices, such as bluing checks, dent repair, and hand scraping. Learners will use these industrial-grade components to study topics such as types of fluid film bearings, manufacturing and inspection techniques, lubrication, and more. Not only do the components provide durability to stand up to frequent use, but they also aide learners in becoming better prepared for the tasks they will encounter on the job.

Practice Hands-On Mechanical Skills for Various Applications

The Journal and Fluid-Film Bearing Training System features a 36-inch long formed-steel baseplate with provision for tabletop mounting. It includes two (2) three-inch diameter babbet-lined, split pillow blocks of 2-bolt and 4-bolt varieties, one (1) three-inch diameter machined shaft, combination wrenches, bearing shims, and more. Optional accessories expand training to include fluid film thrust bearings, radial fluid film bearings, as well as the setting of clearances in multistage pumps.

The Journal Bearing Tool Kit (204-J01) comes with scrapers, additional bluing (Prussian blue), lead wire, and sample plastigauge material. In addition to the trainer and tool kit, the training package also includes the IPT Industrial Trades Training Manual (510-000), which includes nine major subject matter areas relating to mechanical drives and drive components.
