DAC Worldwide’s Journal and Fluid-Film Bearing Trainer (204J-000) is a realistic, heavy-duty learning aide that allows for convenient and consistent training in the identification, installation, removal, and maintenance of a variety of babbet-type journal bearings found on high horsepower, high-speed rotating machines that have high loads.

The trainer contains two student workstations, as a split journal bearing is provided on each end of the device. The bearing allows for common maintenance practices, such as bluing checks, dent repair, and hand scraping. Learners will use these industrial-grade components to study topics such as types of fluid film bearings, manufacturing and inspection techniques, lubrication, and more. Not only do the components provide durability to stand up to frequent use, but they also aide learners in becoming better prepared for the tasks they will encounter on the job.

Practice Hands-On Mechanical Skills for Various Applications

The Journal and Fluid-Film Bearing Trainer features a 36-inch long formed-steel baseplate with provision for tabletop mounting. It includes two (2) three-inch diameter babbet-lined, split pillow blocks of 2-bolt and 4-bolt varieties, one (1) three-inch diameter machined shaft, combination wrenches, bearing shims, and more. The trainer requires the #204-J01 Tool Kit, Journal Bearing. Optional accessories expand training to include fluid film thrust bearings, radial fluid film bearings, as well as the setting of clearances in multistage pumps.
