A realistic, heavy-duty device allowing for convenient and consistent training in the identification, installation, removal and maintenance of babbet-type journal bearings as found in industry on high horsepower, high-speed rotating machines having high loads.

The device provides for two student workstations, as a split journal bearing is provided on each end of the device. The bearings allow for common maintenance practices, such as bluing checks, dent repair and hand scraping.

Optional accessories expand the topic area to include fluid film thrust bearings, radial fluid film bearings, as well as the setting of clearances in multistage pumps.
7-Gauge, formed-steel baseplate, 36" long, allowing for mounting across the width of a standard shop bench.
Provision for installation of optional fluid film thrust bearing, simulated multi-stage pump housing and fluid film radial bearing.
