One of a series of related sectioned industrial motors, this 3-phase, squirrel-cage, explosion-proof induction motor cutaway supports industrial training activities related to electric motor types, as well as repair and troubleshooting. An integral horsepower, industrial-duty motor is modified for training purposes.

3-Phase squirrel-cage motors are encountered in many industrial applications, and are commonly the motive force in pumps, machine tools, mechanical drive trains and other high starting torque and high running torque applications. Explosion-proof varieties limit potential for local ignition due to internal explosions, sparks, or surface heat.

A full-length body and stator cutaway unveils the complete internal configuration of the motor, while showcasing key features such as stator windings, wiring connections, fan blades, and squirrel-cage rotor design. The internal flame seals and bearing seals are also shown.

The device includes a formed-steel mounting assembly, allowing for stand-alone display, bench-top mounting, or mounting on specialized mounting benches and support structures.
