This sectioned (cut away) valve sample allows for valuable classroom training in the operating characteristics, construction, and maintenance of industrial floating-type ball valves, as used in high-pressure oil & gas applications.

Often selected for use in strategic, safety-related applications, due to their self-sealing properties under high pressure, this specialty ball valve is often encountered in the oil patch in strategic applications.

Through carefully-planned sectioning and color-coding, the complete internal configuration of the valve is exposed and showcased. Seal features and hardware locations have been retained, allowing for “hands-on” training in maintenance.
Sectioning of an actual, steel, API 6D, flanged, two-piece, ball valve, 2" (DIN50) nominal diameter (common US valve makes and models chosen for industrial and oilfield training relevancy).
Disassembly, cleaning, priming, and painting using a high-durability, urethane coating.
Color-coding of valve body, internal surfaces, seat, and closure devices, using contrast colors.
Full sectioning, highlighting key construction features including; upstream and downstream seats, two-piece body, stem, ball, and packing.
