This economical and conveniently-sized triplex plunger pump assembly allows for hands-on maintenance activities as commonly undertaken on larger oilfield -type mud pump assemblies used in upstream oilfield production activities.

Mud pumps, found at literally every wellsite, maintain downhole backpressure, lubricate the rotating drill bit and help recycle and remove rock debris resulting from drilling activities. These high-pressure triplex pumps require regular refurbishment, inspection, and repair in the field.

This realistic pump sample similar in geometry, design, and operating characteristics to larger oilfield varieties facilitates training in operating principles, regular maintenance activities and nomenclature/parts identification at a more convenient scale in the lab.
