This unique, professionally-crafted and sectioned industrial double-enveloping gear reducer has been designed for use in classroom and laboratory training relating to industrial mechanical drives.

Double-enveloping (often referred to as cone drive-type) reducers help maximize service life and mechanical efficiency when compared to similar worm/worm gear arrangements, based on increased contact area.

This example, procured as industrial surplus, has been restored, carefully cut away and refinished using durable coatings.

The device is mounted on a modular, heavy-Gauge steel baseplate, which facilitates mounting on related display and storage structures. All operational features have been retained allowing the reducer to be operated via hand crank, or used for maintenance-related activities.
